  • Serving God means doing what God wants you to do at any given time. We need to learn to take orders from God.

Spiritual work is not a preoccupation or an occupation –it is a vocation.

    You are at My command.

Meaning: This is a sculpture God gave me when I asked for how long am I to continue doing sculptures – I was getting weary. This means that I am to do what I am told as long as there is a battle to be won.

  • Serving God means glorifying God and not one’s self

We don’t have powers. Every amazing act is always from God. Every good that we become is from God. So, we must give credit where credit is due. Care must be taken lest we become conceited in thinking that we are above others.

We often think that we have to figure out ways to glorify God. On the contrary, God glorifies us so that in us He is glorified. There is a very big difference between thinking we are the ones glorying God as compared to giving glory to God because God has glorified us.

God glorifies us so we can carry out our mission- to bring the world closer to Him. He makes us “credible” messengers so people believe. We do not dictate what is to be done or given to others but God who decides –we are merely the conduit of His chosen grace.

Our purpose is for people to believe in Jesus Christ not so they can believe in us. It is to direct their gratitude towards God and not to us. It is to strengthen their faith in God and not in us. It is to praise God and not us. Only God knows the right approach and the right time to make this happen.

  • Serving God means putting yourself out there

Credibility in the eyes of others made me very uncomfortable to go out and say that God speaks to me. Why would they believe me? I don’t exactly fit the mold of what one would consider a “mystic” since most catholic mystics were nuns, priests. Marian visionaries or those who were pious even at an early age. To this, Jesus replied that He did not fit into the mold of the expected Messiah and neither were His apostles religious scholars nor leaders. Then, He gave me this bible verse:

You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:14-16
